Now, the first definition sounds good, but really?!! What century was this written in? The third one……stereo type and the fourth; WRONG in so many ways. But the second one (I didn’t include the whole thing; first two paragraphs said it all); THAT’S ME; well, maybe not a smile that lights up the WHOLE sky, but my own little corner of the world. I grew up in the central part of the state of Michigan in the small village of Chippewa Lake where everyone knew everyone, neighbors greeted each other on the street and they were always there with a helping hand. The area farmers hired neighborhood kids for haying and harvest season and that is how my love of farming started. Nature was the place I wanted to be, so working on an orchard/chicken farm was perfect for me (except for the occasional snake; not crazy about them). A lot of my friends were farm kids, so I often helped with chores. Milking cows, feeding livestock, collecting eggs, etc………..I loved the animals and the work. Fast forward……………..In 2014 I took my best friend (my dog) and moved to an old farmhouse on nine acres, complete with a barn. It was a dream come true. Once I was all moved in and cozy, I asked myself, “now what”? As circumstances would have it, I talked (I love to talk; storytelling is such fun!) to a friend of a friend and he told me about their lavender adventure and I thought “why not!” So, here I am today on my cozy little hobby farm, growing lavender and dreaming big. The barn is now gone, my dog has passed, I have faced many struggles, learn new things everyday, and still am dreaming big! So please come and dream with me. This adventure is perfect for a Country Girl.
